We are so excited to bring you our newest offering…..Kids Cooking Club! This is the perfect way to get your kids into cooking AND take a night from shopping and preparing dinner. The 1-hour virtual sessions will be a super-fun cooking class designed for teens looking to get comfortable in the kitchen or build on the skills they already have. At the end of the class, your budding chef will be able to serve dinner to you and your family. We will do the shopping and deliver ingredients, they will do the cooking, and you will sit back, relax and enjoy your supper! This is a great gift for your own kids, for friends and family with teens at home, or for yourself!
There is no minimum age for participation in this class…younger kids just may require more parental help. To participate independently teens (and their parents) must be comfortable using knives and operating the stove/oven…..Chef Dan will be in the kitchen with them to help during this interactive virtual experience.
Menu: Chicken Curry with Spiced Basmati Rice, Citrus Roast Carrots & Fresh Naan Bread
If you are local you don’t have to worry about shopping, we will take care of organizing ingredients for the class and have them available for curb-side pick up or for delivery to your doorstep (we offer delivery within Victoria, Saanich, Esquimalt & Oak Bay for $5.00).
If you live farther away we will send you a detailed list of ingredients for the class – all ingredients will be easily accessible from major grocery stores. We will send you a detailed list three days in advance so you have time to shop.
If we are organizing your ingredients you have the option to sign up for pick up at our kitchen at 953 Fort Street between 2 pm – 4 pm the day of your class (call us at 250-590-1865 for delivery to your car) or we will deliver to your doorstep within Victoria between 9 am – 4 pm on the day of your class.
We will send you an info email the day before the class and the Zoom link the day of. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Equipment to Have Ready
Small pot with tight fitting lid or foil to cover for rice
Large frying pan (or pot) for curry
Another frying pan for naan if you wish to use the stove or lined baking tray for oven
Baking tray or oven-proof frying pan for carrots
Rolling pin or glass bottle
Olive oil and salt
Pre-heat oven to 450F
This class can easily be adapted for vegetarians. If you have specific allergies or don’t eat garlic/onions please contact us to discuss the best menu options.
